Open Studio – Art Journaling
Your studio is open Fridays. Each week, you’re invited to grow your creative repertoire and learn a specific activity taught by Barb Lucas. If you’d prefer working on an ongoing project, or explore a path that diverges from Barb’s offering, that’s ok too. There will be plenty of time for one-on-one support and solo exploration.
January’s theme is Art Journaling. The first week’s offering is First Layers: Water Colors, Acrylics, Gesso.
Using your choice of medium(s), Barb will guide you towards laying a base for your art journal, exploring movement, texture, and color theory as you work.
The second week’s offering is Textures, Collages, and Stencils.
Barb will help you build layers onto your journal and take notice of the themes that emerge (whether you’re conscious of them or not!).
The third week’s offering is Mark Making with line, stamp, and tools.
The final offering is Text, Journaling Prompts and Secret Writing.
Begin to pour yourself into this sacred container you’ve made! Barb will help you get started using your Art Journal, providing journal prompts and suggesting rituals for writing.
