Back Country Horsemen

Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host their monthly meeting on Thursday, October 18 at Corvallis School Cafeteria on Eastside Highway in Corvallis. Potluck dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Program speaker will be our own Bitter Root Back Country member, Sandy Carlson, a retired mounted police officer. She will describe the types of horses recruited for mounted patrol service and the training they require. The recent work to the Medicine Point Lookout and the Calf Creek project will be reviewed. BCH is a “boots on the ground” volunteer organization that works hard to keep trails clear and accessible for riders and hikers alike. It welcomes guests and new members.
