POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - The Town of Stevensville is seeking qualified applicants to serve as Ward 2 Councilperson for the Town of Stevensville. The councilperson’s job duties include, but are not limited to, attending council meetings the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month as well as work with other council members to implement a budget, adopt resolutions and ordinances, attend special meetings, committees, public hearings, addressing town issues as needed and representing Ward 2 citizens.

The Councilperson for Ward 2 shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Stevensville Town Council during an open, public meeting. The appointed Ward 2 Councilperson will serve in this interim position until December 31, 2011 and must run and be elected on the November 2011 Ravalli County ballot to retain this Ward 2 position. Qualified applicants must be United States Citizens and have been a resident of the Town of Stevensville in Ward 2 for the past 60 days (MCA 7-4-4401).

Interested persons can obtain an application and ward map showing Ward 2 boundaries (Central Avenue on east side of Main Street, across Main Street on West 5th Street and South to Town limits) from the Town of Stevensville Clerk Office. Applications must be returned to the Town of Stevensville Clerk Office not later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Please verify your ward prior to filling out an application. Any applications received after this time and date will not be considered. The appointment for Ward 2 Councilperson position will be on July 12, 2010 during the regular scheduled Council meeting.
