In a moving and colorful ceremony, Honor Guards from American Legion Post #94, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1507, and the Knights of Columbus raised the American flag on a newly erected flag pole in the entranceway to the center as a young Boy Scout sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Town contracts with Stevi Main Street AssociationBy Michael Howell The Town of Stevensville, after half a year of haggling over the details, finally agreed to sign a contract with the Stevensville Main Street Association for services totalling $5,000. Through this contract the Town intends to promote a diverse and sustainable economy and strengthen the tax base; restore preserve and promote its historic downtown; maintain downtown as a retail area designed to serve residents and surrounding area, as well as visitors from out of town; promote an economic climate that provides an alternative to development outside of town; assist in retaining small businesses; and encourage high quality design and development in commercial areas.
