Stevensville, MT – Rose Cobb, 88, of Stevensville passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Living Center Nursing Home of natural causes.
She was born February 23, 1926 in Gorham, North Dakota to Fred and Annie Paladichuk. As a child growing up in Sidney MT, she spent most of her life surrounded by her nine brothers and sisters. Many weekends were spent picking agates in the river south of town.
In the early 1950’s she married Emery Cobb. While raising four wonderful children, Betty, Anna, Ed, and David, it was Havre where Rose made home to raise her children. One of her many enjoyable memories was being a member of the Havre Police Department. She spent over 20 years serving as Havre’s first parking meter officer. People respected her role and responsibilities even if it came at a cost of paying for a parking violation. After retirement she spent many years in the restaurant business.
Many of her greatest memories were spending time teaching her children how to fish and playing cards. Many countless days were spent traveling with her children to her favorite fishing holes and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s athletic events.
The greatest gift that Rose had to offer was the gift of caring for people. She always looked forward to traveling to visit and provide care for her immediate family members. A lady with a big heart, a lending hand, and a positive outlook on life best describes her. She will be missed deeply by everyone she knew.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Norm), Victor MT, Anna (Buddy), Stevensville MT, Ed (Paulette), Denver CO, David (Roxi), Billings MT, and Bob (Lori); brothers, Johnny and Steve Paladichuk; grandchildren, Jon, Janet, Chad, Aaron, Jackson, Slade, Steve, and Jason; great grandchildren, Bailey, Carly, Jerod, Aiden, Aleicia, Savannah and Braelyn. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Annie, her sisters, Kate Berry, Marge Denham and Joyce Callem and brothers Sam, Mike, George and Jim Paladichuk.
A private memorial service took place in Victor MT on Nov. 2nd with burial taking place at the Victor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the Living Center Nursing Home in Stevensville MT or a charity of one’s choice.
