Artists’ reception
An artists’ reception for Jennifer Odgen and Dulcie Belanger will be held First Friday, October 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Art City, 407 W. Main in Hamilton. “The Fox and the Hedgehog” by Ogden and Belanger is inspired by the conundrum of how to navigate through choppy waters, changing currents, windless days and treacherous undertows presented by everyday life. Where the fox takes a playful, experimental approach to survival, relying on her cunning, charm and opportunistic tendencies, the hedgehog contrasts with her no-nonsense strategy of planning, collecting, preparing; literally turning inward for a safe, single-minded approach. Whether you utilize the tricky sleight of hand or a self-protective ruse, the artists explore these themes via paper and clay and invite the viewer to recognize where and how the fox and the hedgehog lie within themselves. Music will be provided by Light and Variable Winds and refreshments will be served. “The Fox and the Hedgehog” will be on display at Art City through November 15.For more information contact Art City at 363-4764.
