Thanks from Historical Society

May 13, 2014 by Editor

We wish to reiterate our appreciation and gratitude to those who helped to make the April 25 fundraiser at the Ravalli County Museum a wonderful success. The Dillon Junior Fiddlers, an amazing and talented group of youthful performers, led by a dedicated group of adults, presented a most entertaining “Ride Through Montana.” With a series of vignettes crafted together with music, humor, and respect for our State, they honored its 150th Territorial Birthday, as well as its 125th Statehood Anniversary.
Welcoming the attendees upon their arrivals, were three well-known local musicians: Ted Heiland, fiddle, Terrol Crane, guitar, and Bill Neaves, bass. Thanks so much for your time and talent, in spite of the weather. Upstairs, guests were greeted by offerings of delicious sustenance, provided by individuals of the Museum, and most especially by the following very generous businesses: Albertsons, Edge Restaurant, Good Eatin’, Hamilton’s Market Place, Mission Bistro, Red Rooster Bakery, Super 1 Foods, The Loft, and The Wild Mare. Thanks to all.
Rounding out this delightful evening was a silent auction of unique offerings donated by the following: Asmus Jewelers, Richard Babcock, Bella Boutique, Scott Boulanger, Evans Ace, Bob Hafer, Mel and Mary Alice Holloway, Frances Matlock, and Ravalli County Museum. Thank you to them, and to those who purchased their donations.
We extend our gratitude to 28 eating establishments, from Sula to Florence, for permitting us to advertise with table tents. Thank you to Bitter Root Laundry. If we have omitted any donor, please accept our apologies and our thanks.
Thank you to our staff and volunteers, without whom such events do not come to fruition. In a more perfect world, money would not be the driving force behind our charitable and worthy causes. When a fundraiser is both rewarding and delightful, it is a success.
