Spiritual Cinema
The Center for Spiritual Living invites everyone to Spiritual Cinema on Wednesday, April 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The movie this week is “Who You Really Are!” Best-selling authors Esther and Jerry Hicks examine a variety of topics on the law of attraction in light of the wisdom revealed to Esther through a spirit she calls “Abraham.” Topics include the true source of food cravings, throat cancer, recovering from substance abuse, Wall Street economics, how artists can receive financial compensation for their work and much more. North Valley Pachyderm Club
The North Valley Pachyderm Club will meet Friday, April 4 at 12 noon at the Frontier Café, Hwy 93 in Stevensville. Guest speakers will be State Senator Scott Boulanger, SD43, and his opponent, State Representative Pat Connell. The North Valley Pachyderm Club meets the first and third Friday of each month and is an educational arm of the Republican Party. All are welcome.
Stevensville K of C Fish Fry
Our Lady of the Mountains Knights of Columbus Council 13093 of Stevensville is holding a fish fry every Friday of Lent through April 11, at St. Mary’s Family Center. Menu consists of fish, coleslaw, vegetable, mac and cheese, french fries, and dessert. Coffee and lemonade will also be served. Price for a meal is adults $8.00, children ages 5-12 years $4.00, children under 5 years free.
Hamilton K of C Fish Fry
The Lent season is here and the Knights of Columbus Council 6130 will hold a Fish Fry on Friday, April 4 from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at St. Francis Pastoral Center, 411 S. 5th, Hamilton. The meal consists of all-you-can-eat fish, fries, coleslaw, mac ‘n cheese, vegetables, dessert and soft beverage for $10.00 per person. Children under nine eat free. Wine can be purchased separately. Some nights there will be entertainment! Everyone is welcome so come out, bring a friend and enjoy the evening. Lenten Friday Night Fish Fries will continue on April 11. Hamilton First Friday
The Hamilton Downtown Association invites valley residents to celebrate spring with a stroll through downtown Hamilton this Friday evening, April 4, as downtown kicks off its First Friday celebration. Gardening is the theme for the evening, and many stores are pairing up with valley garden shops and nurseries, offering browsers a glimpse of spring, from 5 to 8 p.m.
HDA Coordinator Russ Lawrence encouraged downtown visitors to investigate shops they might not otherwise visit, just to see what’s going on. Master gardener Molly Hackett will be answering gardening questions at Mikesell’s Fine Jewelry, for instance, and Samantha O’Byrne, of Sam’s Spade, will demonstrate how to make beneficial bugs welcome in your garden, at Bella Boutique.
Chapter One Book Store will offer a trio of activities, showcasing their fortieth anniversary sale, along with the opening of the Tempest Tea Shop within the store, while also hosting K&S Nursery for the evening.
The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance that evening, at Robbins on Main and other locations downtown, for photo opportunities with kids.
Numerous other businesses will be open late, with gardening displays and other in-store specials. Downtown eateries and drinking establishments will also welcome residents and visitors to enjoy a relaxing evening. Clatters Coffee House will have a display by HHS art students, with live entertainment, and Spice of Life will also continue its First Friday tradition of live music.

Stevensville Playhouse benefit
The Stevensville Playhouse is holding a Bake Sale and Silent Auction to help raise money for the theater on Friday, April 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. as part of the First Friday event. The theater will also be open so people can catch rehearsal for “Whistle Down the Wind”, the final show of the Stevensville Playhouse’s season. Fundraising is an essential part of keeping the playhouse open and running for members of Stevensville and surrounding communities to enjoy! First Friday at NV Library
Spring is here! Time to get out and enjoy your friends and neighbors for First Friday celebrations. Stevensville’s beloved musician, “Texas Tom” Roat, will perform at the North Valley Public Library on April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tom plays guitar and sings a wide variety of folk and country music. Daly Mansion Speaker Series
The free 2014 Daly Mansion Spring Speaker Series begins on Saturday, March 8 and ends Saturday, April 12. The six sessions, all held on Saturdays, are presented by members of the Daly Mansion Archives Team and the Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau. Hospice benefit

Introduction to yoga

Senior Center bingo

HDA Crab Feed
The Hamilton Downtown Association is hosting its annual Community Crab Feed on Saturday, April 5, in the Community Center at Hamilton City Hall. The fun-filled evening is a fundraiser for the HDA, which supports the Hamilton community and produces events such as Daly Days, the children’s Halloween Costume Parade, and the Christmas Stroll.
A no-host bar opens at 5:30 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m., including crab served with melted butter, salad, baked potato, and dessert, for $30 per person.
The event features a “pirate” theme, and attendees are encouraged, though not required, to come in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best pirate costumes.
Other highlights include a silent auction, and a raffle for the Bitter Root Valley Entertainment Package, with tickets to events and businesses ranging from the Pharaohplex movie theater and the Hamilton Playhouse, to the Ravalli County Fair, with a total value close to $200. Raffle tickets are $10 each, or three for $25.
“It’s great fun and delicious food,” said HDA Coordinator Russ Lawrence. “The tables start out decorated with treasure maps, and end up covered in heaps of crab shells. Everyone has a great time.”
The HDA promotes the “Shop, Live, and Give Local” message, said Lawrence, encouraging Hamilton-area residents to support their neighbors.
Tickets for the Community Crab Feed and raffle tickets for the entertainment package are available at Chapter One Book Store and The Paper Clip in Hamilton, or by calling the HDA at 360-9124.
Elk Foundation banquet

Scholarship Pint Night
The GFWC Bitterroot Woman’s Club will hold a scholarship fundraising event on Sunday, April 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bitter Root Brewery in Hamilton. Music will be provided by the Big Sky Mudflaps. Over 75 fun and creative silent auction items have been donated. The $400 High School Scholarships are awarded to students throughout the valley as a ‘Community Improvement Project’ of the GFWC Bitterroot Woman’s Club, celebrating 100 years of volunteer service.

NV Library financial classes
Did you know that in 1916 you could get your money laundered for free? If your money was in good enough shape, you could take it to Washington, D.C., where it could be washed, ironed, and reissued. The American Library Association and the Chicago Federal Bank have teamed together to present the first annual Money Smart Week at Your Library. The mission of this campaign is to provide financial education awareness and access to American consumers. The North Valley Public Library in Stevensville will host the following events:
