Stevensville – Nancy Jane Blahnik passed away at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital with her loving husband Bruce by her side on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Nancy was born May 8, 1951 in Superior, Wisconsin to Eugene and Gertrude Olson.
Nancy is survived by her husband Bruce; two children, Kelly (Aaron) of Denver, Colorado, Chris (Kelly) of Reno, Nevada; Bruce’s two children, Scott of Orofino, Gina (Tim) of Missoula; six grandchildren Aedan, Lauren, Corinne, Amaya, Riley and Payton; sister Robin (Jim) Davis and brother Bob Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from Superior Senior High and was married to her first husband Michael Roper shortly afterward. Nancy and Mick moved to many different places but eventually made their way to Montana where their two children finished high school and college.
Nancy moved to Missoula in 1989 and worked for Montana Rail Link. While living in Missoula Nancy met and fell in love with her husband Bruce. They were married on January 15, 1994. The last twenty years were happy ones for Nancy and Bruce. They shared a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Nancy retired from Montana Rail Link ten years ago and was blessed with many more opportunities to visit her children and grandchildren.
Nancy will be remembered by her family as a faithful, selfless, loving mother and wife. Her family is comforted by, and grateful for, her Christian faith and local church family. A service was held to celebrate Nancy’s life on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Bible Church, 280 Fairgrounds Rd., Hamilton MT 59840.
