Suellen Mary Schertenleib

December 17, 2013 by Editor

Suellen Mary Schertenleib went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2013 in the comfort and peace of her home at the age of 57. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
She was born on February 8, 1956 in Spokane, Washington to Nickless and Dorothy Mager. She was raised and attended all her years of school in Wilbur, Washington until she moved to Spokane, where she received an Associate’s degree from the Spokane Community College. She went on to work in the Personnel Department of Fidelity National Bank in Spokane. There she met her lifelong friend and coworker, Patti Reeves.
She met her husband Steve Schertenleib while living in Spokane and they were married in May of 1977. They moved to Florence, Montana in 1980 where they quickly became part of the community by running the small IGA for 20+ years. They also became active members in the Florence Carlton Community Church. Here they raised their two children, Wade and Sara.

Sue loved being involved in the Florence Public Library, as books were a passion of hers. She was also a dedicated member of the Florence Carlton Church where her faith in the Lord was evident in how she lived, and raised her family. Her latest and greatest passion was her three grandsons, who brought her more joy than could be imagined.
She is survived by her husband Steven Schertenleib, Florence, Montana; her son Wade Schertenleib, his wife Nicole and their sons, Quintan and Cooper, Spokane, Washington; her daughter Sara Blackwell, her husband Aaron and their son, Nickless, Littleton, Colorado; her elder brother Steve Mager and wife Bonnie, Phoenix, Arizona; her elder sister Sheryl Houston and husband Ken, Wilbur, Washington; and her various nephews.
Services were held to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 7 at the Florence Carlton Community Church. The family asks that if you would like to contribute in lieu of flowers, there will be a scholarship in her memory through the Florence Carlton Community Church.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
