Stevensville – Wesley Kip West, 59 of Stevensville, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home in Stevensville.
Wes was born August 24, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief following a 20 year career. After retirement, Wes settled in Stevensville, MT where he built his own log home and named the land Serenity Ranch. He graduated from the University of Montana College Of Technology in the computer science program. He then worked for Western Business Equipment in Missoula.
He loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and rock hounding. He was passionate about conservative politics and the Tea Party. He enjoyed ranching, farming, jewelry making and was part of the Gem and Mineral Society.
Wes is survived by his wife, Hilda; stepdaughters, Dr. Lacey Jones and Crystal (Thaiv) Armerding; grandchildren, Kayden, Madison and Teagen Armerding; parents, Richard and Helen West of Ft. Worth, TX; brothers, Judge Brent (Judy) West of Ogden, UT, and Kim (Jane) West of Littleton, CO; sisters, Kae Sutton, Wendy West, Kristy (Ken) Glover, all of Ft. Worth, TX, and Nancy and (partner Anna Furniss) West of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Al (Jane) Kirlin of Florida.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton. Military honors will be presented by the US Navy. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
