NVPL storytime
Kids Create Storytime will be held Wednesday, July 17 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Public Library. Kids Create is an enriching early learning program for toddlers and preschoolers. RCEDA
Ravalli County Economic Development Authority will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the RCEDA office, 274 Old Corvallis Rd, Hamilton. The meeting is open to the public.
Stevi school resource committee
There will be a Stevensville School Board of Trustees Resource Committee meeting on Wednesday, July 17, at 3 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office.
NVPL gardening class
Did you know Stevensville has a beautiful new, organic community garden? How about that your local library hosts a variety of children’s and adult events outside of the library? Come out and support these local organizations and learn a thing or two at the same time on Wednesday, July 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The topic is container gardening and the teacher is Pam Hawkins, a local vegetable garden expert. Pam will show you creative ways to garden above ground. Tires, apple crates, buckets, and hay bales are just a few of the ideas to learn about and see first hand. Dig It, this summer, with classes and workshops at the library and the Stevensville Community Garden. NVPL Dig Pottery Library Program
The Dig Pottery Library Program will be held Thursday, July 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the North Valley Public Library. This week, Liz’s Pottery Studio will be at the library to show families how to be creative with clay. Learn the basics of working and modeling clay and create your own whimsical piece to take home. What are the differences between discipline and positive guidance? Learn useful tools to promote the behavior you want to see. Get acquainted with resources that provide positive guidance support. DCPL Fun Night
Community Fun Night is scheduled for Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at the Darby Community Public Library. Explore the past, present and future at self-guided science and history learning stations. Make a family time capsule. Door prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.
Back Country Horsemen
Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen host the second in their series of outdoor summer meetings on Thursday, July 18, at Bass Creek Trailhead, located up Bass Creek Road and west of Charles Waters Campground. Potluck dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 7:00. The Bittergrass band will provide entertainment before the meeting starts. Museum lecture
A free lecture by Jim McKusick entitled “The Poetics of Nature” will be held Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford in Hamilton. Driver safety class
A Driver Safety Class will be presented at Marcus Daly Hospital in Hamilton on Friday, July 19. The class begins at 9 a.m. and will last approximately four hours. This safe driving strategies class is designed for drivers age 50 and over but all drivers are welcome. There is no written test. Montana mandates an insurance discount for qualified graduates. The class fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Attendees are requested to bring a check made out to “AARP” for class fees. Pre-registration is requested. North Valley Pachyderm Club
The North Valley Pachyderm Club will meet Friday, July 19, at 12 noon at the Frontier Café, Hwy 93 in Stevensville. There will be a Constitution class on “Exposing the Enemies of Freedom.” The North Valley Pachyderm Club meets the first and third Friday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. and is an educational arm of the Republican Party. 5 Valley Accordion Assn.
The 5 Valley Accordion Association invites everyone to join them at their annual potluck picnic and dance taking place all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday morning July 19, 20 and 21 at the American Legion Hall in Stevensville, 754 Middle Burnt Fork Road, located three miles off Eastside Hwy, for a fun filled weekend of events including music, dancing, food and entertainment. Forest Moon Walk
Once a month, as the full moon glows, it seems safe to venture out into the dark while the moon makes magnificent shadows across the landscape. You can still smell the wildflowers, feel the wind blowing through the trees, hear the water running through the creek bed, and sense the bustling nocturnal life.
For the 13th year, the Bitterroot National Forest and Bitter Root RC&D presents a series of interpretive Moon Walks from June to October. These free, educational walks are based on the book “Walk When the Moon is Full,” by Francis Hammerstrom about her children and the nature walks they took every month under the full moon.
The Aquatic Moon will be held Saturday, July 20 at 7 p.m. at Kiwanis River Park in Hamilton. Enjoy a walk through the park and learn about the Bitterroot River and the aquatic life that it supports.

‘Dancing with the Divine’
The Center for Spiritual Living presents Danclng With The Divine on Sunday, July 21 at 10 a.m. Meditation begins at 9:30 a.m. Christina Maria Svoboda has lived in and experienced many different countries and will demonstrate how some cultures use dancing as a spiritual practice. Music at the Mission
Love good music? Want to get away from the house and chores? Looking for a relaxing Sunday afternoon with friends and acquaintances? Plan to take in “A Potpourri of Vocal Artistry” with Anne Basinski & Friends on Sunday, July 21 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Historic St. Mary’s Mission. Anne, a Professor of Music at the University of Montana, is sure to entertain and delight you. Proclaimers concert
The Proclaimers will give a concert on Sunday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 354 Cooper Lane, Hamilton. This group has been coming to the valley for over 30 years and always presents an uplifting time of joyful praise in song. They also come to help with VBS and share in Hamilton and Darby. Vacation Bible School
Our Savior Lutheran Church of Stevensville invites local children on a climbing expedition to some of the great mountains of the Bible, “Tell It on the Mountain: Where Jesus Christ Is Lord,” this year’s Vacation Bible School theme anchors the truth of the One True God in the solid rock of God’s Word. The week of July 22-26, Our Savior presents the VBS program free of charge and open to children ages four through ten. The children will examine the Biblical events connected with Mount Sinai, Mount Carmel, the Mount of Transfiguration, and Golgotha, to see how God’s Word reveals the truth about Himself and His loving plan for His children.
Registration will begin on Monday, July 22 at 8:45 a.m. Crafts, music, games, and Bible activities will be featured Monday through Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Snacks and beverages will be provided at break and outdoor activity time. Voluntary offerings will be collected daily in chapel for mission projects.

Above the Influence Summer Camp
Tobacco Free Ravalli and Western Montana Addiction Services Prevention present the Above the Influence Summer Camp for 6-8 graders July 22-24. There will be three fun-filled days devoted to developing your strengths and finding your inspirations. Games, activities, great food, movies and more will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and the total cost is $25 including food and extras. Space is limited to 15 youth so sign up early. Mule Team
All are welcome to attend a meeting of the Ravalli County Democrats’ Mule Team on Tuesday, July 23 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Liaisons Cafe, 111 N. 2nd, Hamilton. There will be a speaker from Ravalli County Public Health who will be talking about Title X. It is an interesting topic for interesting people to discuss. A Family Fun Night will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 6 p.m. at the Darby school cafeteria. This free event is brought to the community by 123 Invest in Me Best Beginnings Community Council of Ravalli County in cooperation with the Darby Community Public Library. Activities include free dinner, door prize, gift bag and fun parent/child interactive activity.
