Gun rights

April 9, 2013 by Editor

It appears to me that people don’t know, or understand, our Constitution. They have blinders on and don’t see the reason why our Founding Fathers put the 2nd Amendment into it. To quote from Imprimis, March issue, “The Second Amendment reads as follows: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Imprimis makes a good point when they say the Constitution is established by the people, it does not establish the people.
This article goes on to say, Militias made up of citizens are necessary for a free state. When government becomes destructive of the ends for which it is established, the Declaration then says it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and to institute new government.
Imprimis continues, whenever Government means to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia. Only an armed people are a sovereign people and only armed people are free.
Look at the word infringed—dictionary says, to break as law. So the government has no right to break this 2nd amendment in any way as they are doing now. It does not matter if you like guns or are against guns, under the Constitution we have the right to bear and carry Arms, the government does not and cannot take the right away from us. Nor can any person or State official.
Wake up people, before it is too late and you find Nazism at your door, and then it is too late.
