Wolf treatment causes trip cancellation

September 25, 2012 by Editor

It is reassuring to realize that there are people that have the courage to write letters and to speak out in defense of our rapidly disappearing wildlife. The letter from Julia Fernandez-Clegg, which appeared in the online Opinion section of the Bitterroot Star was intelligent, passionate, and correct.

My husband and I drafted a letter to the editor of a newspaper in Montana late last year. The letter was in response to an article that disclosed the insane plans for the annihilation of the wolf population in Montana. Our letter was an attempt to inform people of the importance of the wolves and to hopefully persuade them to oppose the trapping, aerial shooting, and the general massacre of the wolves.

The response that we received in the form of comments under the Opinion section included a number of crude, vicious, and hateful messages. To be sure, those inflammatory messages were no doubt the rantings of a few misguided individuals. Still, it is hard to imagine that in this day and age a much larger number of people could stand by and do nothing while the wolves are being inhumanely slaughtered.

This year my husband and I cancelled a long planned trip to Montana along with 29 friends that we travel with on a regular basis. The main reason was that after hearing of the trapping and savagery inflicted on the wolves in particular, none of our group wanted to make the trip to Montana.

Glad you’re not coming to Montana, we don’t want you here with your liberal ideas about the wolves. Get on the website; http://www.saveelk.com/ and see the horrible destruction these wolves can do,. They are preditors, the kill for the fun of it, the kill elk, deer, sheep, cattle, PETS & PEOPLE. They kill elk & deer only to remove their unborn. The videos in this site will make you sick & realize why they don’t need to be here. Keep your city slicker ideas in Santa Barbara at your beaches, I know all about the pitiful state, I was born & raised there, that’s why I left to come to Montana, where you can hunt, own a gun, protect yourself & live in a beautiful state without the crap liberal California does. Keep out of our affairs, you don’t live here!

Thanks for the article! It has inspired me to buy a wolf hunting license and sign up for a wolf trapping class.

Again we have people trying to tell us how to do things that don’t live here. Stay in California we don’t need your kind here. Don’t have a clue about wildlife management and what is going on here. But i just want to see the pretty wolves. lol

So glad to hear that Jannet and Carl won’t be coming to pollute Montana with their leftist drool anymore.

Being so concerned about predatory animals, they should petition Governor Moonbeam to allow the transfer of all the wolves from the Northwest to Santa Barbara county. Once transferred, they can establish breeding farms and petting zoos for all their liberal friends to enjoy
