The Florence volleyball team played some of their best volleyball of the season in Anaconda at the District 6B tournament on Friday, Oct. 26th and Saturday, Oct. 27th. The Lady Falcons ran through the competition, winning four straight matches to earn the 6B District Championship trophy.
In the first round, they defeated Arlee 3-0 (25-7, 25-17, 25-9). Quinn Skaggs had 9 kills and 6 digs, and Maggie Schneiter had 20 assists. In the second round, they faced Anaconda, a team that beat Florence in both regular season contests, and won 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20). Elise Schneiter had 9 kills and 3 blocks, and Dia Jenkins had 2 aces. This sent them to the semifinal game where they defeated Loyola 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-17). Ava Philbrick had 13 kills, and Ella Goeltz had 19 digs.
Then in the championship game, they again faced Anaconda. This time Florence lost the first two sets then roared back to win three straight to win 3-2 (23-25, 17-25, 25-10, 25-22, 15-13). For Florence, Maggie Schneiter had 28 assists, Olivia Raczykowski had 3 blocks, and Elise Schneiter 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 12 kills.
Florence heads to the Western B Divisionals on Nov. 1st-3rd in Eureka. In their first game, they play Plains on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
