Playoffs to begin

The Class A soccer playoffs are set to begin on Saturday, Oct. 14th. There are three divisions of Class A Soccer: the North, the South, and the East. Corvallis, Hamilton, and Stevensville are all in the South division. This year the South only gets two teams into the State tournament, the South’s #2 and #3 teams play a “play in” match to decide the South’s #2 seed moving into the eight team State bracket.

The Hamilton girls earned the South’s #1 seed, finishing 8-0 in conference play. They host the #2 seed from the North, Columbia Falls, on Saturday, Oct 14th at 1 p.m.

For the girls’ “play in” game, #2 Stevensville hosted #3 Corvallis on Monday, Oct. 9th (scores not available at print time). So either Stevensville or Corvallis will host the East’s #2 seed, Lockwood, on Saturday, Oct 14th.

The Corvallis boys earned the South’s #1 seed, going 5-0-1 in conference play. They host the #2 seed from the North, Columbia Falls, on Saturday, Oct. 14th at 11 a.m. The two teams tied 2-2 earlier this year on Sept. 2nd.

For the boys’ “play in” game, #2 Hamilton hosted #3 Stevensville on Tuesday, Oct. 10th. So either Hamilton or Stevensville will host the East’s #2 seed, Lone Peak, on Saturday, Oct. 14th.
