Captain Justin T. Horsfall, a 1994 graduate of Stevensville High School, presented an American flag to Farmers State Bank on Thursday in honor of his mother, Kaye Horsfall. Kaye Horsfall has been an employee of the bank for about 36 years and Capt. Horsfall felt this would be a nice way to honor her. Horsfall flew the flag in Afghanistan on September 11, 2011. Inscribed on the flag case are the words, “Operation Enduring Freedom, the 10 year anniversary of a date that scarred America. May we never forget and always persevere.” Capt. Horsfall is a UTT60 Line Company commander. The UTT60 is better known as the Blackhawk helicopter. He said he flew two flags that day. The other flag is hanging in Hamilton Hall at Montana State University where he was commissioned. He and his family are currently transitioning from Fort Hood in Texas to Orlando, Florida, where he will leave aviation and work in research and development of new aviation methods and equipment. He served in Iraq twice and did one tour in Afghanistan. Jim Tadvick accepted the flag on behalf of Farmers State Bank. He said this was a real honor and privilege to accept the flag, and felt is was a wonderful way for a son to honor his mother. Jean Schurman photo.
