It is typical for political candidates seeking office to expound about what they are going to do.
In Montana House District 89, Nancy Ballance can accurately point to what she has already achieved.
Her past professional accomplishments includes over 40 years in information technology, executive management leading multi-million dollar international projects In 2005 she retired as a vice president of Zurich Financial Services and moved to the Bitterroot with her husband, Larry.
In 2011 she was elected to the Hamilton school board. Her management and executive experience brought a new approach to issues facing that district. She tactfully and skillfully suggested some procedures which have brought about positive changes to that school district. Top quality education is a high priority with Nancy, as evidenced by her participation at the local level.
During the 2011 Montana Legislative she made several trips to the Montana Legislature in Helena and helped author a healthcare bill (Interstate Healthcare Compact) that would allow Montana to enter into a compact with other states to exempt them from oppressive federal healthcare regulations. In that endeavor, she became acquainted with and gained the respect of numerous members of that legislative session. Although passed by both the Senate and the House, it was vetoed by the Governor.
Currently, working with others, she prepared the 42 page draft of the Bitterroot Valley Natural Resource Use Policy for Ravalli County, and made that presentation to the Commissioners.
Her dedication to civic involvement at both the local and state level has, without question, qualified her as the best choice to be elected to the Montana legislature, based on what she has already done, not on speculation as to what she plans to do.
