The annual Bob Reed Invitational is the last track meet where the six valley schools had a chance to compete against each other for bragging rights in the Bitterroot. Each school had standouts and multiple winners.
The Florence sisters, Tess and Hannah Porch, combined to win four events and pushed each other throughout the sprints. Tess won the 100, 200, and 400 and placed fourth in the high jump. This was the first time she’d competed in the high jump. Hannah was second in the 200 and 400. She won the long jump and was fourth in the triple jump. On the boy’s side for the Falcons, the team of Brady Blomquist, Madison Bolton, Tanner Cobbs, and Dylan Reynolds won the 1,600 relay.
Stevensville’s Josh Lords lead his team with wins in the 100 and the long jump. He also ran the first leg of the 400 relay, which took first. Perhaps the most excited winner for Stevensville was Wes Porter when he crossed the finish line first in the 200 and with loose with a big yell. On the girls’ side, Britney Chilcott took first in the 100 hurdles and the javelin. She placed second in the 100 and fifth in the 200.
Victor’s Kurt Manely unleashed the second longest javelin throw in Class C this year with an effort of 179’5” to win the event. Highflying Kyle Ball won the triple jump, the high jump, was second in the long jump, third in the 300 hurdles, and fifth in the javelin.
Corvallis’ Raymond Jessop took first in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, and was second in the javelin. Beau Maus was first in the 400. Brandon Butt won the discus and Austin Atkins won the shot put. Ayden Eickhoff won the 1,600 and the 3,200 while teammate Isabella Pape took the 800. Lakyn Connors won the 300 hurdles and both the 400 and the 1,600 relay teams won their races. Aspen Evans continued her dominance in the pole vault.
Hamilton’s Meghan Kratofil won both the shot put and the discus. Bre Orr took the triple jump with a leap of 32-0.
Darby controlled the distance races for the boys. Doug Raymer won both the 1,600 and the 3,200. Jeremy Campbell was first in the 800.
