Recognition for veterans health clinic (and more)

September 13, 2022 by Guest Post

by Scott Weaver, Hamilton

It was pleasing and encouraging to see the Star’s Aug. 17 recognition that Hamilton would be receiving a new veterans health clinic, bigger and better, expanding services to an additional 700 veterans. Though it didn’t acknowledge Sen. Tester’s name in the headline, it did well to spell out his great involvement in the accomplishment. Much thanks to Sen. Tester is warranted.

It was also diligent to recognize that Tester “was the only member of the Montana congressional delegation to vote in support of funding for the new facility.”

This is consistent with the others’ ongoing efforts to simply do nothing for the average American, and Montanans more specifically.  For example, the recent Inflation Reduction Act (initiatives to promote clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower health care premiums and prescription costs particularly for working families and those with middle and lower incomes, large corporate tax evaders to pay a fair share, etc.):  Tester – Yea, Daines- Nay, Rosendale – Nay.

All too often Rep. Rosendale is a vote against, seemingly more focused on scoring points from his political base and leader. This 2022 election cycle will provide the opportunity to vote him out of office.

For us in the newly established western district, we will have an opportunity to elect a representative who will work for us, not another like Rosendale such as Ryan Zinke who has already clearly proven his unworthiness to serve us in D.C.

I’d encourage our citizens to seriously recognize the facts as to what is best for our families, communities, and nation when our next elections come, instead of simply whether there is an R, D, L, or I next to an election candidate’s name.
