Well, I’m just surprised and, yes, disappointed in the majority of Montana voters.
When I moved away from here with my family about 66 years ago, I took with me a memory of ordinary folks who might or might not have much education, but they loved the land and supported their communities however they could and had, well, integrity. Of course that was before much television and long before Fox News.
How can so many people in Ravalli County be stuck on Theresa Manzella? She’s probably a kind person – she takes care of horses, doesn’t she? – but someone has managed to focus her gaze and political efforts on problems that don’t exist.
Oh, there are enough problems in our political system, the main one in my opinion being that money calls the shots. In the “Old West” wouldn’t that have been the bad guys? Gianforte and Daines and Rosendale and Zinke all have more money than God, as they say, and we’re believing they’re on our side? they’re wanting to do what’s best for us? How likely is that?
Now our “representatives” are putting all this time and (our) money into questioning the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, when historically trusted and reliable sources say there was no election fraud that could have made a difference. Why are Montanans falling for the stories of a reality tv personality instead of the documented historical record? He and his minions are only in it for the power and the money, certainly not for you and me.
So yes, let’s engineer a revolution – not against equality and equity and democracy, which are supposed to be defining values of this country, but rather against self-centered capitalism and cynical exploitation of the gullibility of the American voter! Is that what this country is really about?
