It’s about ethics

October 19, 2021 by Guest Post

by Jim Sayre, Stevensville

I voted for Brandan Dewey for mayor when he first ran for the position. Since then, I have observed his performance in as much detail as he has allowed the public. To say I have been disappointed is an understatement. My primary focus has been observing all office holders ethics and performance. Any office holder can and will make mistakes, and they will be highlighted especially in today’s culture. We all have our ethical standards and we judge through these eyes. I can only judge through mine.

However Mayor Dewey’s attitude toward the public, his bullying tactics, his appointees, and his bunker mentality has greatly concerned me, Over the years serving in City, County, State and Federal contract positions, I have developed a code of ethics that I take pride in and strive to maintain. I expect the same from my elected officials and their appointees.

For all the above reasons, I will be voting for Steve Gibson for Mayor of Stevensville. I think we need a man of his ethics, calm demeanor, experience, and intelligence to slow this ship down some and check our course. Let’s give Steve and Stevi a chance. Stevensville can use the break.

Be careful what you wish for.
The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Mayor Dewey has done a tremendous job of moving this town forward even with the opposition from a handful of people in this community.
