Stevensville Playhouse auditions
Auditions for “The 39 Steps” will take place Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stevensville Playhouse for “The 39 Steps.” This is a farce based on an Alfred Hitchcock movie. The play’s concept calls for the entirety of the 1935 adventure film “The 39 Steps” to be performed with a cast of only four. One actor plays the hero, Richard Hannay, an actress plays the three women with whom he has romantic entanglements, and two other actors play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women, children and even the occasional inanimate object. This often requires lightning fast quick-changes and occasionally for them to play multiple characters at once. Cast is 3 men and 1 woman, 18 years and older.
You do not need to bring a monologue, there will just be a cold reading of the script. Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday, 7-10 beginning March12th. Show dates are May 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20.
