Dewey must be recalled

September 29, 2020 by Guest Post

By Mark Adams, Stevensville

Where do we start? Bandon Dewey wants to put Bob Michalson on trial for ex parte contact with the residents of Creekside Meadows neighborhood which are taxpayers of Stevensville. Ex parte is a legal term meaning ‘one side only’. Yet Dewey has been in contact with the developers of Burnt Fork Estates several times and these people live in Corvallis (California?). Both Bob Michalson and Dewey were elected to represent the people of Stevensville, not some outsiders that are only interested in profiting from the people. The last time I checked it is still a free country, a person can talk to anyone about any issue without fear of retaliation.

Not so with Dewey. Since March of this year he has tried several (6 at last count) times to get Mr. Michalson removed from the Town Council on trumped up charges. This is open retaliation for Mr. Michalson’s questioning of the IT contract which Dewey signed without Council approval. That IT contract is now the reason Dewey is being recalled.

In my opinion Dewey is a liar, he told the developers of Burnt Fork Estates that there was water for the subdivision when the Town of Stevensville doesn’t even have water rights to supply that area. Is Dewey really expecting the citizens of Stevensville to believe what he says about any issue?

Dewey tried to get the recall stopped but failed. District Judge Howard Recht used the term “specious” to describe Dewey’s complaint. One of the definitions of specious is “deliberately misleading.”

How can the taxpayers of Stevensville continue to countenance such behavior by an elected official? Dewey must be recalled.
