Lady Tigers finish third

The Darby Lady Tigers finished third in the conference with a win over Valley Christian in the consolation game, 48-19. Sophomore Amber Anderson broke through with 17 points in the game to pace Darby.

Darby 48, Valley Christian 19

Valley Christian – Mackenzie Dierking 5; Maggie Harvey 4; Taylor Vance 4; Lanaya Gedney 2; Bella Roff 2; Lanessa Gedney 2.

Darby –  Amber Anderson 17; Annie Rennaker 7; Makena Hawkinson 6; Kimber Schlapman 6; America Baugus 4; Keyla Goodwin 2; Sami Shull 2; Madison Conner 2; Kylie Schlapman 2.

Earlier in the day, Darby defeated Lincoln, 41-29. Anderson paced Darby with 15 points. Lang had 8 points, Kimber Schlapman had six, Annie Rennaker and Makena Hawkinson each had four points, Madison Conner three points, and Goodwin one point. 

Darby opened against the Lady Pirates of Victor and quickly took control of the game. They went on to win, 50-22. Gracie Lang and Annie Rennaker each had 11 points to lead the Lady Tigers.

Darby – Madison Conner 4, Gracie Lang 11, Kylie Schlapman 5, Annie Rennaker 11, Kimber Schlapman 3, Makena Hawkinson 4, America Baugus 3, Samantha Schull 2, Amber Anderson 5, Keyia Goodwin 2. 

Victor – Cassidy Alber 2, Nola Smorowski 4, Bella Scichilone 4, Tia Allred 1, Emma Day 3, Virginia Brown 3, Maddie Bahr 1, Ashley Buchanan 4. 

Victor’s final game of the season was against Valley Christian. Victor put up a good fight and were coming back as time ran out. They lost, 31-28. Coach Ryan Tolley said he was very proud of the growth his young team had made throughout the season. “They worked hard and we’ve come a long ways.”
