Bitterroot Valley's best source for local news!
The Bitterroot Star online calendar is only for community events that are free and events that would be fundraisers for local non-profit organizations.
When submitting an event, be sure to include date(s), time, venue (location), and organizer information. Your event will not be published if any of this information is missing. We review all events before we post them. This may take up to 2 business days.
If you think ripping a book apart is sacrilege, you’re not going to want to read any farther. But if you think repurposing old books is creative, this event is for you. Make a wreath out of an old book, bring your own or there will be more than a few available. Join new Adult Services Specialist, Nancy Bevins, in an inaugural, “Rip that Book” apart night.
The North Valley Public Library is hosting this book ripping on Monday, December 9 at 6 p.m. Book burning, book banning, now we have book rolling. Roll those pages up to make a creative wreath for the holidays or for anytime. Use Shakespeare’s Sonnets for an interesting twist on text.
Bring a glue gun and large cardboard square if you have them. If not, don’t worry, there will be a few supplies available. This workshop is suitable for adults. Call the library to register for your spot. North Valley Public Library is located at 208 Main Street, Stevensville. For more information, call 406-777-5061 or visit northvalleylibrary.org. All library programs are free and open to the public.
