Hamilton school superintendent finalists chosen

The Board of Trustees for the Hamilton School District has announced the following finalists for the position of District Superintendent:

Robert Connors is currently the Junior High School Principal and High School vice Principal in Stevensville. Prior to joining the administrative team in Stevensville in 2002, Connors was a teacher in Laurel, MT. Connor has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Montana and Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Montana.

Thomas Korst is currently the Assistant Superintendent of the Havre Public Schools. He was previously the High School Principal for the Seeley Swan High School and a K-8/Elementary Principal for the Seeley Lake Elementary in Seeley Lake, MT. Korst has a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Montana College in Business and English, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Montana.

Robert Lewandowksi is currently the Superintendent of the St. Ignatius School District in St. Ignatius, MT. Prior to joining the St. Ignatius School District in 2010, Lewandowski was the Superintendent in Meeteetse, WY. Lewandowski holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts and Education from Chadron State College, a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Chadron State College, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of Wyoming.

Daniel Nicklay is currently the Principal of the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Nicklay has been with the Academy since 2000 as a teacher, Dean of Students and Vice Principal before assuming the role of Principal in 2006. Nicklay holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Montana in English Literature and Sociology and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana.

Hamilton School District is hosting a public meeting for the superintendent candidates on Friday, January 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the HHS commons (just prior to the HHS varsity boys basketball game against Corvallis).
