Former Florence standout Patrick Duchien got his first start at quarterback for the Montana State Bobcat football team on Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Bobcats’ game against Northern Arizona.
Duchien, a senior at MSU, led the Florence Falcons to two straight Class B State football championships in 2022 and 2023. Duchien is the Bobcat backup quarterback this season, so when MSU starting quarterback Justin Lamson got injured last week, Duchien got the start.
Anyone who saw Duchien play in high school won’t be surprised that he excelled. Against Northern Arizona, Duchien completed 16 of 20 passes for 204 yards and threw a touchdown, and he also rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Lamson is scheduled to miss a couple of weeks, so Duchien should see some further action in the coming weeks.
