September 30, 2026 by Editor Leave a Comment

Janice Ann Park of Corvallis passed away Monday, September 7, 2026. The youngest daughter of Robert and Alice Carmichael, Janice was born on April 26, 1940. She had one sibling, her older sister Wilma Carmichael Allen.

As a young child and teenager, Janice attended Corvallis Schools. She graduated in 1958. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Terry Park. They married on June 14, 1958, and spent 68 years sharing their lives. Together they raised two children, Teralee Ann Park and Bradley Robert Park.

Janice was proud of her children and took pride in supporting their activities. Whether music concerts or sporting events, Janice enjoyed attending. She was a Mother Advisor of the Corvallis Chapter of Rainbow Girls when daughter Teralee was Worthy Advisor. Janice also worked at Corvallis School and later went to work for Corvallis Post Office.

In their younger years, Terry, Janice, and their kids spent many hours in the snowy hills snowmachining with friends. They enjoyed outdoor activities as a family. In the later years, Janice turned to China painting to fill her days. She was an accomplished painter and won several ribbons at the Ravalli County Fair for her meticulous work.

Janice joined the Corvallis Methodist Church in 1950. She was active in making prayer shawls. She also did the paperwork to have this church building put on the register as a Historic Building. In 2023 Janice was awarded the Hal Knudsen Historic Preservation award which came with a monetary award that she donated to her church.

At age 17, Teralee was killed in a car accident. Janice and her good friend Marie Langevin began a group called “Compassionate Friends” to help others through trying times. This led to a Hospice group being formed in Hamilton.

Janice was richly blessed with those surviving her including husband Terry Park of Corvallis; son, Bradley Park of Corvallis, granddaughter Brittany (Brandon) Geher and great-granddaughters Ashlyn, Kamryn, and Briar of Corvallis, granddaughter Jordy Snow and great-granddaughters Maia and Halle of Lynnwood, Washington, sister Wilma Carmichael Allen of Corvallis, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family and good friends.
