The Cross Country teams from 10 area high schools gathered in Corvallis on Saturday, September 12, for the annual Corvallis Cross Country Invitational. The Bitterroot teams from Corvallis, Darby, Hamilton, Stevensville, and Victor were among the participants.

Girls’ results
Hamilton senior Aleigha Child scorched the field and won the girls’ race with a time of 19:04.22. Hamilton’s Reecelyn Walthall took 2nd (19:54.06), and Hamilton’s Maevie Child took 3rd (21:14.72). Corvallis took the next three spots as Ellie Berger took 4th (21:25.42), Natalie Huls took 5th (21:26.36), and Cheyenne Herbert took 6th (21:46.72).
Darby’s Brooklyn Rogers took 7th (21:53.36).

Boys’ results
Darby senior Ben Martin won the boys race with a time of 16:28.71, which was nearly 40 seconds faster than second place. Hamilton’s Benjamin Beare took 3rd (17:17.88), and Corvallis’s Braden Anderson took 4th (17:30.81).
Also for Corvallis, Jeremy Davidson took 7th (17:49.61), Soren Watt took 8th (18:01.19), Jonas Davidson took 9th (18:23.01), and Nick Venema took 14th (19:18.11).
Also for Hamilton, Kennie Cords took 18th (19:53.61), and Orion Tison took 27th (20:36.11).
Stevensville’s highest finisher was Waylon Jochim in 22nd (20:05.55).
