The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on a floodplain permit to conduct roadway work and culvert replacement within the regulatory floodplain of Three Mile Creek. The applicant is the Montana Department of Transportation. The project is located within with existing MDT Right-Of-Way at the Three Mile Creek Crossing along Eastside Highway, Stevensville. The replacement crossing will be sized to address the observed performance issues in addition to renewing the service life of this crossing and better aligning with the existing channel at the toe of the proposed roadway embankment. Information regarding this permit is available at the Ravalli County Planning Department at 215 S 4th St, Suite F in Hamilton. Written comments may be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed ( planning@rc.mt.gov ) and must be received by 5:00 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Reference application #FA-25-11.
