The ongoing investigation into threats received by Flathead Valley schools cancelled not only regular classes in the Flathead Valley but also all extra curricular events. Corvallis was supposed to play in Whitefish for the Bulldogs’ homecoming. Stevensville was scheduled to play at Columbia Falls. Both games may be made up if the schools can arrange a date within the season.
Hamilton traveled to Polson to take on the Pirates on Friday. The Broncs quickly established their offense and scored 21 points in the first quarter alone. They went on to win, 48-6.
Hamilton’s quarterback, Carson Rostad, hit Tyler Chouinard from 23 yards out for the first touchdown. Rostad completed eight of 16 passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Rostad also hit Camron Rothie from 13 yards out for another touchdown in the first quarter. The second touchdown was all Rostad as he raced 19 yards for the score. Bridger Bauder kicked five of six PATs. Declan O’Brien had a 95-yard kickoff return in the second quarter and Rostad added another scoring run from 16 yards out. Rostad hit Mark Johnson from 35 yards out. The final Hamilton touchdown was a nine-yard run by Tristan Lewis for the end zone.
Victor ran over Clark Fork, 72-40. Senior Eli Rosen rushed for 304 yards and scored five times in the Western C match, although Clark Fork scored first when Kaleb Vanverls had a five-yard scoring run. Then Rosen went to work. He raced 42 yards for his first touchdown. He then added two more scores on runs of 21 yards each. After two more Clark Fork scores, Rosen had a 37-yard TD run in the third quarter. Quarterback JD Kay called his own number and plunged two yards for the score. Rosen added a 64-yard scoring run. It was Kay who scored again on a pick six when he intercepted a Clark Fork pass and raced 18 yards for the score. Kyler Wolferson caught a 49-yard pass from Kay in the first minute of the fourth quarter. Kay then had runs of 32 yards and eight runs for touchdowns.
Darby was host to the Flint Creek Titans on Saturday for the Tigers’ Homecoming. Flint Creek scored early and went on to win, 54-6. Darby’s lone score was an 11-yard pass from Dylan Parks to Lean Kayser.
