Only one in 10 will tell someone about the abuse. Since 2006, Emma’s House has seen hundreds of children in Ravalli County, and averages 120 children per year. In 2017, with the increase in numbers, Emma’s House expects to see between 125-150 children.
Emma’s House is a safe place for children and families to talk to professionals about child abuse and neglect. At Emma’s House the primary concern is a child’s safety. Emma’s House provides forensic interviews, medical exams specific to child abuse allegations, crisis intervention and counseling for children and their families. The professional staff works together to ensure that children feel safe and comfortable and strives to reduce trauma and promote healing for children and families.
“The generous donations from our community and local businesses are vital to the sustainability of our program,” says Val Widmer, Executive Director. “We can’t thank the community enough for their contributions to our fundraiser, it truly is overwhelming how many people attend our event every year.”
