Course in Miracles Study Group
A weekly ongoing and deepening discussion of A Course in Miracles, a journey of spiritual transformation continues on Wednesday, May 24 with a discussion of Lesson 127: My mind holds only what I think with God. Spring Wellness Workshop
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and St. Francis Health and Wellness Ministry have partnered to bring you a new free Spring Wellness Workshop, “Balancing Dimensions of Health” on Wednesday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St Francis of Assisi Pastoral Life Center, 411 S. 5th, Hamilton. This fun and unique workshop will provide helpful information on how to take better care of your body, mind and spirit. It includes a healthy lunch, health screenings and informational booths, door prizes and great presentations on nutrition, stretching and exercise, breathing and relaxation, and men’s and women’s health.
The doors open at 11 a.m. to register for free door prizes and visit the booths on blood pressure, posture, sleep health, eye health, and osteoporosis as well as gather information on sun safety, CPR/First Aid, annual preventive screenings, etc. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. and a presentation on Nutrition & Your Health by Dr. April Weinberger will begin at 12 noon. Separate informative presentations on Women’s Health by Katie Herczeg, APRN, and Men’s Health by Dr. Larry Brower will start at 1 p.m. Everyone will come back together at 2 p.m. to learn and practice simple energizing stretches and exercises, and take a short group walk (chair exercise is available for those who can’t join the walk). And finally, you’ll practice simple restful deep breathing and mind calming relaxation techniques before heading home. Treat yourself to a healthy lunch and improve your body, mind, and spirit wellness!

Darby Library Events
The Darby Community Public Library, in conjunction with IPHARM from the University of Montana, will offer the following screenings on Wednesday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
• HbA1c (Blood Glucose)
• Cholesterol (requires a 9-12 hour fast for complete results, but drink plenty of water).

“Predicting Pandemics and the Myth of Sisyphus,” a free public lecture, will be presented by Dr. Marshall E. Bloom, Associate Director at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, on Thursday, May 25 at 6 p.m. at the Library.

Chamber of Commerce luncheon

Victor park board
The next meeting of the Victor Park District will be Thursday, May 25 at 7 p.m. at Farmers State Bank in Victor. Members will be discussing summer landscaping projects, repairing of old picnic tables in the park, progress on the new restroom, and many activities at the ballfield. Driver safety class
An AARP Driver Safety Class will be presented on Friday, May 26 at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, 1200 Westwood Drive in Hamilton. The class will begin at 6 p.m. and lasts approximately four hours. While this safe driving strategies class is designed for drivers age 50 and over, all drivers are welcome. The class fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. There are no written exams or driving tests, and Montana mandates an insurance discount for qualified graduates. Pre-registration is advised. Dance performance
River Street Dance Theater dancers have tuned their muscles, strengthened their feet and honed their dance moves to present their concert on Friday, May 26 at 7 p.m. The lively, funny and thought provoking dances will be presented at the Victor School’s Mary Stuart Rogers Performing Arts Center, 425 4th Street (turn on 3rd Street to find parking on the south side of the school.) The concert is the culmination of this year’s classes for the dancers ages 5 to adult. They will be performing dances in the styles of modern dance, jazz, tap, creative movement and a special presentation of improvisation. The choreography was created to the music of Boards of Canada, Capercaillie (an Irish group), Lady Gaga, Chris Janson, The Chenille Sisters and Los Lobos. For the improvisation, the music is unknown to the dancers until they hear it on stage with the structure given to them right before they go onstage. This concert will charm adults and engage children of all ages. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, 48 for seniors and students 12 and up $8, and $4 for children. Victor Heritage Museum
The Victor Heritage Museum opens for its summer season on Saturday, May 27. Typically the museum is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day; Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.; this year the museum will also be open on the 27th, 28th & 29th for Memorial Day. The museum is featuring some exciting guest artists from the Bitterroot Valley: Georgine Lisa Archer of Lisa Archer Silks with her Silk Painting of the National Christmas Tree from 2008; Kathy Meuchel with her beautiful Wire Jewelry and Lizette Ramos from Michael T. Wright Custom Saddles. On July 29, Judge Jeff Langton will give a talk about Victor and its Origins. On August 12, Georgine (Lisa Archer Silks) will teach about the Art of Painting on Silk. Jamie will share her story about how she came to create an extraordinary new life and how we can all respond to challenges to create the life we love.
