I would like to express my sincere and enduring thank you to the members of the 2016 Founders Day Team that worked with commitment and intensity for 21 months to present the Founders Day Program in Stevensville. The time and resources you brought to the program show, without doubt, the strength of our small community and readily display our friendship with the Salish Tribe.
I also wish to thank our local businesses, organizations, sponsors and donors, and many individuals who provided valuable resources, through time and donations, to the planning and execution of Founders Day. Without your assistance, this day could not have taken place.
The history of “Where Montana Began” was on full display last Saturday. The many glowing comments I received from our visitors confirm and recognize the role of Stevensville in the history of our state. I hope many of you will be here to commemorate the 200th anniversary in 2041.
