Sapphire Community Health is excited to announce that free, one-on-one, local help is available to individuals who need assistance signing up for health care coverage. The deadline is quickly approaching for open enrollment in the marketplace which ends January 31st. Sapphire can also assist you in your application for Medicaid expansion which will be ongoing. For most Montanans, financial assistance is available to help make plans affordable. New Year’s Eve Charity Ball
The 2nd Annual Eagles Lodge New Year’s Eve Charity Ball sponsored by Farmers State Bank to benefit Emma’s House will be held Thursday, December 31 from 8 p.m. to Midnight at the Eagles Lodge, 125 N. 2nd St., Hamilton. Nonviolent Communication Discussion Group
Learn to communicate in a non-violent way. Peace and violence start within each individual and is expressed by the way we communicate with one another. This discussion group is based on the book “Nonviolent Communication—A Language of Life” by Marshall Rosenberg. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Sons of Norway
Bitterrootdalen Lodge, Sons of Norway, will meet at Tuesday, January 5 a 5 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton. The Lodge will provide a meatball main dish, with members and visitors invited to bring a side dish. There will be card games and a language lesson. The public is invited to attend any meeting.
Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot
The monthly meeting of Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot will be Tuesday, January 5 at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. The social hour is 6 to 7 p.m. with cocktails/dinner optional. Len Zickler will be the featured speaker. He currently serves as spokesman for the Chairman of the Board Committee of the IFFF and Vice President for the Washington Council of IFFF. He is a recognized expert in the field of Low Impact Development (LID) – a technology intended to promote natural storm drainage management to insure the maintenance of clean cold water for people and fish. Mark your calendar! Western Montana Equine Rescue & Rehabilitation Inc. is presenting the first of four free monthly “Responsible Horse Ownership” classes, scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month. Topics of the next three classes will be announced no later than two weeks prior. The first class will be held Wednesday, January 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Cowpoke Ranch Supply in Corvallis. The topic is “Vehicles/Trailers/Transporting.” A handout will be provided.
