Corvallis played a close game against the Polson Pirates but ran out of time and lost, 48-43. The Blue Devils had a stellar performance by senior wide receiver Daner Miller who unofficially tied a state record of 18 receptions in a game. He finished with 182 yards and had scoring receptions of 14 yards and seven yards. Wyatt Haldorson finished with two scoring runs, one of one yard and another of five yards. Cole Wohltman caught a 40-yard pass from Spencer Jessop for six points. Hunter Humphrey had a three-yard run late in the four quarter to close the gap on Polson. Cayden Ayers had a 20-yard field goal also for the Blue Devils.
Hamilton ran over Columbia Falls, 35-21 to keep their record perfect. The Broncs racked up 21 points in the first quarter and then held off the Wildcats for the win. Alex Draper had a three-yard run, a 12-yard touchdown run, and a 30-yard pick six. Bridger Bauder had an eight-yard scoring run and Christian Ellis picked off another Columbia Falls pass and raced 50 yards for the score.
Darby topped Superior, 60-22, in Friday night action. Kai McCollaum passed for one touchdown to Zach McCrossin from four yards out and then ran for the two-point conversion. McCollaum also had scoring runs from three yards out, 24 yards out and 20 yards out. Justin Horvath scored twice, once from 28 yards out and then returned a kick from 50 yards out. John Beckers had a one-yard scoring plunge and then caught a 29-yard pass from McCrossin for the TD.
Victor lost to perennial powerhouse Charlo, 46-16. Jesse Pearson caught a 15-yard pass from Stephen Scheffer for their first touchdown. Riley Della Silva caught a pass from Scheffer for the two-point conversion. Colt Neville was Scheffer’s target for the second touchdown, this time from 68 yards out. Scheffer ran the ball in for the two-point conversion.
