Joy Helen Kaler passed away peacefully at her home in Stevensville, MT in the comfort of her family on Saturday, July 11. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Kaler of Missoula and her siblings, Randy Kaler of Stevensville, Jeff Kaler and Karen Balfour of Lolo, Melinda Marinan of Missoula, and Lori Beatty of Highwood.
Joy was born in Great Falls, Montana to Patricia and Warren Kaler and graduated from Principia College with a B.A. degree in English and from The University of Montana with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education.
Joy was a beloved and dedicated teacher at Lone Rock School where she worked for the past seven years teaching first and second grade. Joy was loved by her students, parents, and coworkers. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many children. Joy was known for her patience and kindness and was passionate about teaching children to read. She was a devoted fan of the a cappella group Straight No Chaser and loved Disney animated movies.
