Community Appreciation Day at St. Mary’s Mission

The church is being restored in preparation for the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Mission. The celebration is scheduled for September 24, 2016.

The church is being restored in preparation for the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Mission. The celebration is scheduled for September 24, 2016.
This coming Saturday, May 30, St. Mary’s Mission is hosting a Community Appreciation Day with free tours and refreshments. The Mission plans to recognize the Stevensville Community Foundation and the Stevensville Civic Club with honorarium bricks. Engraved bricks can be purchased by anyone wishing to contribute.
The historic chapel at St. Mary’s Mission, founded on September 24, 1841, is undergoing major restoration in preparation for the 175th anniversary celebration of its founding which will be celebrated next summer.
Local historic restoration specialist Chris Weatherly of Bitter Root Woodwright is heading up the reconstruction project funded by a grant from the Stevensville Community Foundation.
Free tours of the Mission grounds will be provided on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
