Darby senior Keely Ehmann won three events to push Darby to a fifth place finish at the Western C Divisional Track Meet in Missoula. The speedster claimed first in the 100 with a time of 12.96. She currently holds the fastest time in Class C in the state in that event. Ehmann also won the 200 with a time of 26.45 and again, has the fastest time in Class C in this event. Her last win was at the 400 meter race where she clocked a 58.31 and broke the divisional record set in 1992. Her mark in this race was the fastest in the state also.
Joe Caicedo won the javelin with a monster throw of 194’1”. This throw is the fourth longest throw in all classes in the state and the longest in Class C. Caicedo was second in the shot put with a throw of 44’6”.
Darby will also send five other athletes to the state meet in Laurel this weekend. Lilly Lang qualified in the 1,600 and the 3,200. She finished fourth in both races. Seanna Abrahamsen was fifth in the 3,200. Darby will send a 400-meter relay team. They finished fifth in that race. And, they will send a team in the 1,600-meter relay race. They finished fifth in that race also. For the boys, Kye McCollaum was fifth in the 300 hurdles. Even Duggan was fifth in the 1,600 and third in the 3,200. John Beckers finished second in the javelin with a throw of 157’3”.
Victor will send three boys to state. Blake Bowen was third in the 110 hurdles. Ryan Lewis took fourth in the shot put and fourth in the discus. Greg Charlton was third in the javelin. Carlyjean Conley took second in the discus with a throw of 105’5”. She was fifth in the shot put.
