Travelers’ Rest State Park will reduce its hours slightly for the fall and winter season beginning September 1. The park also has a variety of special weekend and evening programs lined up for the fall.
From Sept. 1-May 1, 2022, the park gates will be open to vehicles from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Pedestrian entrances are open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year. In September the visitor center will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. seven days a week and will host a variety of fall activities and interpretive programs.
Fall programs at Traveler’s Rest include:
• Sept. 11, 25 and Oct. 9, 23 (11 a.m.): Trekker Kids programs, which include activities perfect for families.
• Sept. 11 (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) & 12 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.): Commemorate the 1805 Lewis & Clark Expedition camping at Travelers’ Rest with guest speakers, activities, and programs.
• Sept. 22 (6 p.m.): Join a fall equinox walk around the state park.
• Sept. 25 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.): Celebrate Public Lands Day at Travelers’ Rest by volunteering
and working to improve park lands.
