William David Weber

August 25, 2026 by Editor

Stevensville – William David Weber (David), age 79, passed away July 30, 2026, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

David was born in Hamilton Montana on November 25, 1946. He loved making his home in the Bitterroot Valley. He began hunting with his father at the age of five, and he continued to be an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He passed this love and skill on to his own children.

His military service was a great source of pride for David. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed to Chu Lai Ca Lu Vietnam with the 9th Engineer Battalion as a heavy truck driver. This time left a lasting impact on him and led him to help found the Vietnam Veterans of America Bitterroot Chapter 938. There he helped other veterans and assisted to create the Ravalli County Veterans Monument at Hieronymus Park. David was a friend of Bill W. and helped many find their way during his 55+ years of sobriety.

David surrendered his life to Christ, and in August of 2021, was baptized together with his wife Golda in the Bitterroot River.

A man full of love and generosity, always ready with a beaming smile, he was beloved by his many friends and family.

David is survived by: His wife, Golda Weber; children, Shane (Janna) Weber, Dusty (Lisa) Weber, Rusty Weber, Tylin Weber, Cassandra Weber (Matthew Dunbar); stepchildren, Jeanie (Mike) Smith, Mark (Candy) Hendzel, Paul (Pam) Hendzel, Diane (Don) Schenck, Tonya (Dan) Lyden, Tiffany (Erick) Freligh, Tina Rhoads, Michael (Sylwia) Stamm; sisters, Marilynn Frost, and Glenda (Ed) May. He had 10 grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 31 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, David and Helen Weber; sister, Karolynn Fiman; and brothers-in-law, George Frost and Gerald Fiman.

Graveside service will be held at Hamilton Riverview Cemetery on September 21, 2026, at 11am. A celebration of life will follow at Lone Rock Bible Church (1142 Three Mile Crk Rd, Stevensville, MT) at 1pm.

Donations in his honor can be made, by check, to the Vietnam Veterans of America #938, sent to PO Box 1391, Hamilton MT 59840.
