Jeanette (Wildey) Applebury, 85, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Jeanette was born on May 6, 1941, in Sturgis, South Dakota. She built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Applebury, who passed away in 1992 and whom she deeply loved and missed.
After Jay’s passing, Jeanette married Jerry Shook. They enjoyed many happy years together until Jerry’s passing.
Jeanette’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for her home and raising her family with love and strength. She is survived by her three children: Victoria Moran (Applebury), Kelly Jolley (Applebury), and Darin Applebury; nine grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death; fifteen great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Janice (Wildey) Applebury and Bonnie (Wildey) Richards.

She was known as the ultimate hockey mom. She had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping and moose hunting. She enjoyed time spent outdoors with family, where camping trips created lasting memories. Whether at home, at a hockey rink, or in the outdoors, Jeanette brought her sense of style, determination, humor, and adventure to moments she shared with others. Friends and family often smiled because she always looked her very best, even when she went on a successful guided brown bear hunt.
Above all, Jeanette loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She taught her children the importance of good manners, showing respect, honoring others, and, most importantly, honoring God. These values became part of her lasting legacy and continue to live on through her family.
Jeanette will be remembered for her faith and devotion to her family. While her presence will be missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is home with our Heavenly Father and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at 130 Dutch Hill Road, Hamilton. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to celebrate Jeanette’s life and share memories.
