Scott Marsh, Florence’s head golf coach, was named the 2026 Class B Golf Coach of the Year by the Montana Coaches Association for both boys and girls golf. Marsh has now won the Class B Golf Girls Coach of the Year for three consecutive years, this is his first time winning the boys Coach of the Year award.
The Florence boys golf team won the 2026 Class B State Championship this spring, while the Florence girls took second place.
“Scott is a great coach and an even better person,” said Florence activities director Adam Tranmer. “He will be the first to tell you it’s not him, it’s the kids and while he and I have the same mindset about that, Scott has built a culture and program that reflects that mindset, and it is second to none.”
Marsh is also the Florence High School principal and is a referee in basketball and football. Marsh has been Florence’s golf coach since Florence started the golf program in 2017. This was Florence’s first boys state title in golf.
“This is an honor that needs to be celebrated, recognized and shared,” said Tranmer, “and is very much deserved.”
