The Southwestern A Tennis Divisionals Tournament was held in Ronan on Tuesday, May 19, through Friday, May 22; rain and thunderstorms prolonged the tournament an extra day. The boys and girls tennis teams from Corvallis, Hamilton, and Stevensville all participated.
Hamilton’s Ciara Hanley won the Southwestern A Girls Singles title. Hanley hopes for another good showing at state this season as she won the Class A State Championship in 2025, was the state runner-up in 2024, and took 5th place at state in 2023.
The Corvallis girls team won the Southwestern A title, while the Corvallis boys team took second place. The Hamilton girls team took second place and the Hamilton boys took third place. The Stevensville boys and girls teams each took fourth place.
The top four individual finishers from the divisionals qualified for the Class A State Tennis Tournament in Hardin on May 28-29.
Corvallis individual results
In girls singles, Ava Wilcox took 2nd, Jakay Venema took 3rd, and Lottie Jessop took 4th.
In girls doubles, the team of Brooke Child and Kenley Jessop took 3rd.
In the boys singles, Pierce Yaskus took 3rd, and Bradley Powell took 4th.
In the boys doubles, the team of Quincy Allred and Easton Jessop took 4th.
Hamilton Individual results
In girls singles, Ciara Hanley won the Southwestern A Divisional title.
In girls doubles, the team of Codie Clarke and Alexis Anson took 4th.
In boys doubles, the team of James Tossberg and Jackson Kirkbride took 2nd.
Stevensville Individual results
In boys singles, Jeremy Madgura took 2nd.
