Michael ‘Mike’ Meuchel

December 9, 2025 by Editor

Hamilton – It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of one of the Bitterroot’s finest, Michael Patrick Meuchel.

Mike was born to Vincent and Dolores Meuchel of Hamilton on June 25, 1959 and passed away November 27, 2025. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1978.

Mike worked hard all his life as a construction worker, rancher and log home builder, which included traveling overseas to Thailand and Japan. Later he owned and operated his own construction company, M & M Builders. Mike was also a member of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department from 1987 until 2007. In his younger years he was a bull and bronc rider.

Mike married the love of his life, Lisa, on August 1, 1992 and had one daughter, Breanna.

Mike enjoyed raising cattle, haying, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and was the most amazing Pa to his granddaughter, his little buddy, Bailey.

Being the giver that he was, Mike was able to bless others by giving the gift of life, being an organ donor and helping save many lives as he left this world.

Thank you, Lord, for making Mike the man he was. We are all blessed to know him.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Vincent. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Breanna (Alex); his granddaughter, Bailey; his mother, Dolores; his siblings, Mac (Lyndi), Dan (Tammy), Peggy (Jim Falk) and Anne (Ray McBride); his nephews and nieces, Mike “Gus” McBride, Kassidy McBride, Ariel Allred, Kody Plettenberg and Dannie Meuchel; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Hamilton High School. There will be a reception following the service in the Daly-Leach Chapel Community Room. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
