The Florence girls and boys basketball teams were in Lewistown for the Class B Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6.
Florence girls
The Florence girls made it to the Class B state tournament last season and look to have a top team again this year. They played Shepherd on Friday and won 62-20. For Florence, Ali Meinhold led the scoring with 15 points, Maggie Schneiter had 12, Shelby Crocker had 11, Madigan Hurlbert, Emory Ralston, Kendyl Meinhold, and Taylor Pyette each had 5, and Jaden Fisher added 4.
Then on Saturday, the Florence girls play Baker, who was the Class B State Runner-up last year. It was a hard fought game, but the Falcons lost 60-72.
Florence boys
The Florence boys played Shepherd on Friday. Florence was down 17-33 at halftime, then they outscored the Mustangs 40-21 in the second half to earn the 57-54 victory. Then on Saturday, the Florence boys played Columbus and lost 34-67.
