Excellent article about the American Legion Constitutional Essay Contest in the December 10 Bitterroot Star. Good job, Nancy from Ravalli Post 47, Hamilton.
I would add that this is a national program, and Ft. Owen Post 94, Stevensville, is also proud to participate every year. Each year, we present certificates and cash awards of around $1,200 locally, with some participants often going on to collect an additional cash award at state level.
Lone Rock School and Stevensville Middle and High Schools already have our 2026 information packets. The deadline is Thursday, February 12th. Encourage your students’ teachers to participate as a class assignment, or enter individually.
