Voter’s remorse

October 14, 2025 by Guest Post

by Tom Tunny, Hamilton

Many voters who cast their lot with Donald Trump in the recent election are suffering voter’s remorse, a condition caused by actions taken that they now regret. But take heart… listen to what Thomas Jefferson our third President, in an AI generated letter, said, in part, to Donald Trump. From the social media forum, the “Thread”… “In closing, I do not write to condemn, but to call to reflection. The American experiment is fragile and sacred. Its success depends not on the glory of its leaders but on their virtue, restraint, and devotion to the public good. It is not too late, sir, to shape your legacy toward unity, to temper ambition with humility, and to remind the people that government must serve truth before it can serve greatness.” To reinforce this message with President Trump, join the “NO KINGS” Rally taking place at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 93 in Hamilton on Saturday, October 18 from 10:30 to Noon.

SRK says “Unlike the Clinton Foundation….. right”

Wrong is wrong, and as I remember, the right (and much of the left & middle) ran them into the ground over it with endless accusations.

    Mike Miller:
Presidents craft budget proposals; the Congress passes, fails to pass or amends the proposed budget. To claim the president is not instrumental in budget processes is naive.
    Trump’s words:
“(The budget) will balance soon. We have to grow. We have to grow at 3%. … We’re the largest economy in the world, and we’re going to keep it that way. And we’re going to have a balanced budget very quickly.” (Remarks to reporters, 2019)

LOL! Many people/departments draft proposals. Past that, as I stated, Congress controls the budget. It’s that simple.

Sign seen at the “No Kings” rally in Hamilton 10/18. “I’m still a Republican but I didn’t vote for this sh*t. No Kings”

A little food for thought. All men between the ages of 18 and 25 must register with the selective service which includes undocumented migrants. Failure to register could mean five years in prison. Seems like a tool to be exploited, why isn’t it?

Excellent point! After all, “no one is above the law”, as the Dems emphatically stated.

My ultimate remorse is that my Vote was stolen in 2020. What a farce proven by Biden!! We might of already had a balanced budget if the Big Lie wasn’t performed on our citizens.

You think Trump would have balanced the budget? Really?Tax cuts for billionaires and spending $200 billion on a tacky gold ballroom equals balanced budget.
      Let me repeat, really?

Presidents don’t control the budget, Congress does. An educated person would know that.

          MM,
I do know that. A person with two eyes (or one for that matter) knows that Trump owns the spineless Republican legislators who do what he wants.

Yet, you’re the one who mentioned a president balancing the budget.

An educated person understands nuance. But there’s Mike always (sarcastically)asking others to educate him. That’s a heavy chip on your shoulder.

When Trump campaigned before his first term he often stated he would balance the budget and zero the deficit in 8 years. In his first two years as President the GOP controlled both houses of Congress yet, did nothing to control our deficit, in fact in his first term he added $7.8 trillion to our deficit! He was more concerned with a wall which we know is useless unless guarded. Congress does control the budget and Trump has total control over his minions, yet they failed miserably. The same is happening currently as the deficit is still rising yet, many think Trump is the answer when it’s already been proven he’s not! Now we have gifted $20 billion to Argentina while we can’t seem to get a healthcare plan for Americans. I guess you support the give away also, I don’t.

Just wanted to point out that the ballroom is NOT being paid for by tax dollars. All the money is donated. I can’t wait for the argument that the money could be used for better purposes……. but…. we do host other countries and events are held at the White House. This is a gift to the American people that will be there long after President Trump is no longer in office. I’m proud of this country and there’s nothing wrong with having a gem built for us.

That’s great. Now, who’s on the donor list? Individual small donors at $50 a pop, or billionaires, corporations and Russian oligarchs who want favors from Trump for funding his gaudy vanity project? Well?

Wanted to point out that Trump recently stated that the demo “wouldn’t touch the existing structure” or “interfere with the current building” they are literally attached to each other! I hope it doesn’t turn out like the gaudy Oval Office with it’s excessive gold adornments! John Quincy Adams first used the expression this is the “people’s house.” I’m also proud of my country and I prefer a more dignified subtle design, we don’t need the Russian or North Korean appearance.

A gift to the American people? Are you kidding? You planning to attend a square dance there? It’s a gold-plated embarrassment paid for by corporations and billionaires who didn’t fund the tacky thing out of their inherent generosity.

Tunny, quoting an ‘AI generated letter from Thomas Jefferson’ as the source of your cries to protest a person (who was elected by the people in accordance with pre-established state/federal laws and writs) allowing your 1st Amendment is beyond ludicrous, but here you and your kind are. All the while believing you’re more educated, loving, and tolerant. LOL!
