Open letter to Zinke

October 7, 2025 by Guest Post

by Larry Keogh, Hamilton

Congressman, is it time to regain your authority and legislate? You know what I mean; take back your constitutionally provided power to govern. You know; being one of the checks and balances of our government.

Your forfeiture of duties has gone on long enough. Will you be a leader instead of blindly following your parties’ dictates?

The “emergency powers act” is criminally imposed without basis in fact. Failure to act is tantamount to failure to govern.

The roundup and persecution of migrants (violent, criminals??) is over-blown to the nth degree. Many of these PEOPLE are not criminals.

The tariffs imposed on China are having a gawd awful effect on our grain farmers. This is becoming an awfully expensive “non-issue” that is being imposed by one man – the man you allow to run rampant, without checking his fascist ambition.

Yeah, I used that “F” word. US Army training, back in March of 1945, does a nice job of describing what a “F” is, does, acts like, and it also paints an accurate picture of what you are allowing to take place by not curtailing this administration. It really is up to you. This clarion call is to become the leader you claim to be. The leader you have trained to become. The leader our nation desperately needs now. Please?

In the Army’s training it tells that the only way to combat “F” is to make Democracy work. That means you need to work. Work for Democracy. Please.

Mike Miller – thanks for asking Larry Keogh to explain his comments – that’s the way to dialogue and get good conversation going. And it would be interesteing to see that Army manual from ’45. Perhaps Larry would donate it to the library so we could all take a look…..?

Hi Helen, please see the comment I posted to Mike Millers questions.
The links I provided will be easier to access. Why donate to the library-though I do use ours when it is available… by simply disturbing a few electrons.

Gosh Kevin! I’m not trying to kid anyone! I guess failure to write to a Senator has been obfuscated by the note to our Congressman.

If you are looking to politicians with a spine for help good luck. When I was a kid I had somebody cut in line in front of me at a theater. I still look at that and ask myself why I did not confront him, it still haunts me. So don’t tell me about those cutting in line at the border and forget about those they displaced.
You seem to think that the illegal migrants just add to the fabric of America but the reality is, they displace those already woven into our fabric or waiting patiently in line….try a new tact.

You say “the Emergency Powers Act is criminally imposed…”. The Emergency Powers Act was introduced, carried and passed up by Democrats in 1976 controlling both House and Senate, and signed into Law by Ford. How is that Law “criminally imposed without basis in fact”?

You say “Many of these PEOPLE are not criminals.”, referring to “migrants being rounded up…”. What’s your source for that?

I’m no expert in Law, so perhaps you’ll explain and identify which Army manual from 1945 should dictate how our elected representatives should govern today.

I look forward to your reply educating us all on these items.

Mike-this is the training document link I refer to.
      https://archive.org/details/ArmyTalkOrientationFactSheet64-Fascism
My utilization of this document is to provide the best definition of “fascist” available. WWII saw the impact of what “fascism” accomplished. I believe that the most accurate definition is that “fascism” is the direct opposite of democracy.
The criminal imposition of the EPA lies in the improper use of the act. Use of a poorly informed opinion is criminal due to the deaths incurred by the arbitrary imposition of the opinion. The stated idea of “shooting someone on 5th Ave and getting away with it comes to mind.”

I’ve tried twice to reply in length/detail to you, but the Star is doing it’s typical incompetent censoring act.
